2010 USFRA World Of Speed September 14th thru 18th.

I`m still at the Bonneville Salt Flats and will be working and covering the 2010 USFRA World Of Speed  event.
I originally joined the USFRA and "Save The Salt" back in 2001,but knew of them long before then.I had put my name forward to volunteer for the 2002 WOS but never made it out that year.
This  is an informative link about Bonneville Salt Flats Racing and how unique it is compared to asphalt racing, taken from this page, which has more links about the USFRA and Salt Flats Racing, some great pictures and links.
There`s a neat video of Burklands 450+mph pass !!.
I`ll be posting up the last pictures of the BUB event later on today after we start to set up the course for WOS this morning.....

BUB Motorcycle Speed Trials 2010 Day 4

By Day 4 of the event I was starting to feel like a dehydrated Lobster under the broiler,Good God Man,it was starting to get to me.It was really hot by Day 4,and of the lack of humidity really didn`t help. But don`t get me wrong,I`m not complaining as 4 months ago or so I was down in S.Fl with the temps in the 90`s and the humidity right about the same,so i`ll take the dryness over the humidity anyday.
Day 4 (Wednesday)had a slightly slower track than Tuesday due to rain the night before that hadn`t really dried out properly, which was evident in the speeds(or lack thereof) that people were seeing on their time slips.I didn`t even go out on to the track untill late afternoon, having spent the morning in town doing a blog page.By the time I got back some of the water had evaporated enough that riding the 4 miles out across the salt to the pits wasn`t totally like riding through oatmeal,it was more like hard bread pudding.......

BUB 2010 Bonneville Hockey League National Championship Final

There were 2 reasons I went to Bonneville this year.
Reason 1.The BUB Motorcycle Speed Trials.
Reason 2..................

The 2010 BHL National Championship Final

I was priviliaged to have a front row seat for this one as Drew Gatewood on the Chicago Team battles for dominance of the puck from Tom"Santa Claus" Anderson.Officiating is Lou Fischer, world renowned referee and Photographer to the LSR community.
It was a really tough battle, but in the end Drew wasn`t very happy with his performance. He was photographed by Lou at the end of mile 6 just past the traps singing the Blues.
Oh well, better luck next year Drew.
